Half Hollow Hills Podcast/Vodcast Server

Welcome to our website!

Welcome to the Half Hollow Hills podcast, vodcast, and blog space directory.

If you are a staff member and an authorized weblog user and have been given your logon information, please click on the "weblog" button on the right to log in for the first time.

If you have not been given logon information and would like to open a podcasting/vodcasting account, please contact Ellen Robertson in Instructional Computing, ex.3089, to gain authorization and instructions.

The Half Hollow Hills Podcast/Vodcast Server allows staff members to mount and serve podcasts and video podcasts (vodcasts) of curriculum related events that can be subscribed to in a podcast aggregator such as iTunes. A viewer/listener does NOT need an iPod to see/hear these broadcasts---they can be viewed directly on this webseite and they can also be seen/heard in iTunes on any computer, PC or Mac, equipped with the free software that can be found at Apple.com. Broadcasts can also be downloaded onto many types of mp3 players.

Although the prefered way of developing your podcast is through use of a Mac and GarageBand, these directions will help you create podcast files on a PC :

The Audacity sound editor for recording MP3 files for podcasting is found on all Macintosh computers in the District. The first time you export your audio file as an MP3, you must direct Audacity to the LAME framework plug-in.
This is found in:
applications>Audacity>LAME.

Audacity now is also found on all instructional PCs in the District in the start menu>all programs. The first time you export your audio file as an MP3, you must direct Audacity to the LAME framework. This is found in:
My computer>programs>Audacity>Plugins>LAME.

* NOTE: All Macintosh computers have internal microphones and speakers. If you are recording on a PC, please call Ellen Robertson to make arrangements to use a USB microphone.
